As you may have noticed the homepage of Modbase has been seriously altered.
We have chosen to display more common gaming news from various sources since there is not much news about Call of Duty.
From now on, every day there will be a fresh load of news on the Modbase homepage :)

No demo/beta for Modern Warfare 2

In most cases, gamers can start with a pre-launch demo or beta of their favorite upcoming games. Well, not this time for Modern Warfare 2.

Activision announced that it won't be possible to test the game with a beta (as it was the case with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare) before the official release. Do they try to avoid players getting a head start? All we know is that we don't have to wait for a demo of this great game.

Therefore we still have to wait until November 10th to try out this amazing game.

CoD: WaW Patch 1.6 + mappack released

For many gamers the waiting for Call of Duty: World at War patch 1.6 took too long, but now the waiing is finally over. The reason why most of us were waiting for this patch is the fact that the third mappack is included in the pathc. Now the PC gamers can start with the three new multiplayer maps (Battery, Breach and Revolution) and the new Nazi Zombie map, Der Riese.

Furthermore there are a few enhancements and updates done:
- your favorites list will ignorde the filter settings;
- a green online indicator in your friendslist;
- add servers to your favorites while in-game;
- new modtools coming.

Modern Warfare 2 Super Elite bundle announced

Especially for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on November 10 Microsoft and Activision throw a slightly different version of the Xbox 360 on the market. The - for the opportunity - gray console gets not only a beautiful camouflage layer, but also comes with an extra large hard drive of 250 gigabytes. Further the bundle also includes two wireless controllers and a headset and (of course) the standard version of the game. This special version of the console will cost 399 USD.

Patch and free maps on their way for PC-version CoD: WaW

Treyarch will soon release patch 1.6 for PC owners of Call of Duty: World at War. The patch is a combined package and includes three expansions as new multiplayer maps (Battery, Breach and Revolution) plus Der Riese, a brand new cooperative map set in a secret base full of undead Nazis. This mappack was already available for consoles (in paying form) and knew - like its predecessors - to persuade more than one million consumers.

The patch also allows that online people in your fiendslist are visible and the ability to add servers to your favorites while playing. For a complete list of fixes and additions you can simply follow this link. The release of Patch 1.6 most likely follow later this week, along with a new version of the official Mod Tools.

No beta for Modern Warfare 2

The game we are all waiting for: Modern Warfare 2, the sequel of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Modern Warfare 2 is already labeled the game of 2009. Developer Activision apparently has great confidence in the online mode of Modern Warfare 2 since the developer on the GamesCon has not announced a multiplayer beta of game. For some people this will be a little disappointment, but don't worry ... before you know it, it will already be November.

As of November 10th, the war zone is opened for online and offline action.

Modern Warfare 2 Lobby picture

The millions of gamers who bought the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game in 2007 can't wait for the sequel of Infinity Ward. The game comes out ten November and should be a serious GOTY-candidate. The most important aspect in Modern Warfare 2 is ofcourse the online part.

A few days ago, a picture emerged from the lobby where you will have to spend many hours in before you can start gaming. It is however the lobby of the Special Ops mode.

Call of Duty: MW for Wii and DS

Call of Duty is the king in the HD-console shooterworld, but it does not seem to be satisfied with this current power. Therefore, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has also been announced for Wii.

In addition, now also the DS market is attacked with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized (attempted longest title with most double points). Ofcourse before you can hope to sell much, you need to convince the potential buyers with images and facts. Therefore a trailer has been released. The game will come out simultaneously with the HD versions, in other words: ten November 2009.

The winner of the Gameserver contest is known!

We first want to thank all participants for their participation.
This was the first really successful Modbase contest with more than 30 participants.

At the beginning of the contest, almost all participants had all the answers correct, but as the puzzles became more difficult, we saw that only 2 participants were leading. Unfortunately the contest ended with an ex aequo.

The 2 participants with the most correct answers (4/5) are ground zero and cerv. Random selection has decided that cerv the winner is of this contest. Congratulations! You win a 24 slot game server for a Call of Duty game of your choice.

Because there was an ex aequo and we do not like to see disappointed faces we'll give a small prize to ground zero. 150 credits will be added to your account soon.
